Remember who you are beneath everything you carry

I’m Johanna.

I help women quiet the noise of expectation, reconnect with their inner knowing, and build lives led by self-trust rather than obligation.

My work is designed to help you hear yourself more clearly — to distinguish your truth from your conditioning, your desires from your obligations, your inner knowing from the noise, and who you are from who you learned you needed to be.

Because the goal isn’t to become dependent on another person’s guidance.

It is to become a woman who deeply trusts her own.

I Know What It Means to Find Yourself Inside a Life You Love

At 37, I became a mother — the fulfillment of a dream I had carried quietly for years.

I loved motherhood more than I ever imagined possible. And at the same time, it began revealing parts of me I thought I had already understood.

Over-functioning. Perfectionism. Carrying the weight of everyone around me. The belief that being capable, dependable, and needed was somehow tied to my worth.

Motherhood didn’t create those patterns. It revealed them.

And beneath all the joy, I found myself asking:

How do I keep myself while holding everything I prayed for?

That question began a deeper journey inward — one that invited me to question old beliefs, reconnect with my intuition and discover that the wisdom I had spent so much of my life searching for had been within me all along.

That journey became inseparable from the work I do today — and ultimately became the foundation of Modern Matriarch.

My Approach

transformation is more than understanding why

At the heart of everything I teach is a simple belief: when a woman remembers who she is beneath the conditioning, she doesn't just transform her own life—she transforms the legacy she leaves. As she learns to trust her own inner knowing, she changes the emotional inheritance of her family and expands what’s possible for generations to come.

My Experience

I’m a Master’s-level social worker with a professional background in social work, behavioral health and family systems.

My work has been grounded in trauma-informed and person-in-environment perspectives — recognizing that who we become is shaped by our relationships, environment, culture, lived experience and the beliefs we carry about ourselves.

Over time, that work led me more deeply into neuroscience-informed practice, nervous system attunement, identity work and feminine embodiment. I don’t see these as separate disciplines.

Together, they create a whole-person approach to transformation — one that honors mind, body, intuition and lived experience, because insight alone doesn’t create lasting change.

What we understand must eventually become something we know how to live.

My Beliefs

I believe motherhood is an invitation to meet yourself again.

Modern Matriarch was born from my belief that mothers do not have to choose between loving their families and remaining deeply connected to themselves.

As our children grow and our lives change, we are invited to become again and again.

  • Who am I now?

  • What is mine to carry?

  • What have I outgrown?

  • Who am I becoming?

I believe the work is not about becoming less devoted to the life you love.

It is about refusing to disappear from it.
